Pasté, m. Vient de paste feminin, d'autant que la chair ou autre viande y est enclose de paste comme d'une boëte. On le rend par Artocreas vocable Grec assez à propos, car il est fait de chair et de paste plus communéement: mais d'autant, qu'il y a pasté de poisson, de coings et autres telles viandes, on le debvroit rendre par un mot formé et fait de Massa Latin, comme Massatum ou Massale, ou autre meilleur, car ce mot pasté, m. n'est dit pour autre raison que l'enclosture faite de paste à ce qui est dedans. Voila comment on appelle assez improprement pasté en pot cette chair menu hachée qu'on fait cuire dans un pot, veu qu'il n'y a point de paste.
